Forget the physique that Matthew Mcconaughey had when he appeared on the stripper flick, Magic Mike. Photos were published by the Daily Mail showing the once-buffed and fully-toned Matthew Mcconaughey looking emaciated and almost frail, leaning towards his mother for support captured in Austin, Texas over the weekend. The photos looked grim but apparently, he is preparing for a role of real-life AIDS victim, Ron Woodruff. The film is called, The Dallas Buyer’s Club.
I’m all for preparing for a role and if you remember, Batman star Christian Bale when he lost weight to play a role in The Fighter:
You also probably remember when Jared Leto gained weight for his role in Chapter 27.
But being true to any role could be very dangerous for anyone specially when it comes to losing and/or gaining weight so fast. It could really harm your metabolism or whatever else that is affected by any rapid weight loss or weight gain.
Do you think Matthew Mcconaughey should stop now?
During an interview and asked about his weight loss, he responded:
‘I’m playing a guy who was sick and would have loved to have been healthier but wasn’t.
‘For me, it’s more of a mental thing than a physical thing. I’ll get down to the weight I need to get to. I’m on my way, and it’s what I need to do for the job.’
