I love Sally Field! 2012 Human Right Campaign’s Honoree Speech (VIDEO)

Ever since I saw her on “The Flying Nun”, I fell in love with her.  When she starred in Norma Rae, Steel Magnolias, and the-now-cancelled-TV series, Brothers & Sisters, I fell in love with her even more.

Yes, her name is Sally Field.  A brilliant actress with an impressive career was honored last night at the Human Rights Campaign gala for her support of equality with an Ally for Equality Award.  She was introduced by none other than Sam Greisman, her own gay son whom she said was “what nature intended him to be” and that it was “not his choice” (to be gay).

I don’t know if you saw her interview on “Inside the Actor’s Studio”, but if you did – you will find out that Sally Field is as human as can be.  One of the questions asked by host James Lipton from a series of 10 routine questions was this:

If heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the pearly gates?

Sally Field’s response?   “YOU WERE BRILLIANT!”

And if God does indeed exist, I’m sure that is what exactly he’s going to say to our dear friend and ally Sally Field.
