Selling at Sotheby’s Auction House for $107 million dollars ($120 million including commissions) is Edvard Munch’s “The Scream” topping a Picasso’s “Nude, Green Leaves and Bust” painting that sold for $106 million dollars.
It is surprising that people are still willing to pay that kind of money even with the status of our economy. I guess they were right when they say that the rich are not affected by a recession.
So, if you want to collect artwork now – you better get started. I have a few pieces myself but nothing that will probably amount anywhere close to the millions. Yet, who knows?!
