This could be the trend of the future!
The way the hologram of Tupac Shakur was received at Coachella, I would take it on a tour too!
Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg is planning to take the hologram of Tupac (who died over 15 years ago) on tour with them. Due to the reaction of the people and the world to the image, they plan to make it a part of their tour. How fun is that?
However, the company who created the digital image of Tupac, (Digital Domain Media Group) did say that this is not going to be an easy feat. The hologram was “not from found footage” – – does that mean that it was created from scratch?
Ed Ulbrich, the chief creative officer for the visual effects house, explained:
“This is not found footage. This is not archival footage. This is an illusion.”
Although it will certainly be a challenge to create a Tupac who can seemlessly entertain fans for hours, Ulbrich says, “This is just the beginning. Dre has a massive vision for this.”
You know who I would love to see next? Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson. That would be awesome. Dead celebrities can continue to go on tour and make money. Ha!
